I did attend the genealogy group meeting in the Abel Tasman Village, in Chester Hill. the conversation was in English as this group was mainly made up of people whose family trees have roots in Holland or have many connections there and who may have quite some knowledge of Dutch but not all have fluency.
It was nice to find that one of the people there had a large part of her family tree also centred on Gouda but we are obviously not related. (In spite of unkind jibes I HAVE heard made about the city of my birth being one of those little towns in the past where many families were related somewhere along the tree.) I have often gone to: http://www.groenehartarchieven.nl/ to get information centred on 'the middle of Holland' ( = Holland Midden).
The group seems to communicate via: http://groups.yahoo.com/group/dutchheritage/

In the photo above, my father has his hands in front of his face. His two brothers are straight behind him and his mother is holding his sister, while his oldest brother, wearing a cap is trying to look over the head of Tante Truus.
