1977: Lid geworden van de groep die radio uitzendingen verzorgde in de Nederlandse taal, via SBS Radio 2EA. Eerst ongeveer een jaar 'savonds laat die programma's op de band zetten, en veel fouten maken. Daarna 'live' op de radio en bang dat de luisteraars je konden horen ademen. Ik werkte het langste samen met een immigrant uit Belgie en probeerde 'middle-of-the-road' te zijn met een mix van één of twee smartlappen, moderne muziek, en 'easy-listening'.
1979: Een jaar gewerkt als: Co-ordinator of Multicultural Educatin Resources, through the Child Migrant Education Centre in the Department of Special Education of the Department of New South Wales. Dat hield in dat ik me dood alleen voelde, zonder leerlingen, in een kamer met een bureau en een telefoon en dan mocht ik af en toe scholen bezoeken om te kijken wat ze deden met de nieuwe Multicultural Education Policy van 1979.
1977: Joined the Dutch Language Group which produced and broadcasted programs, 3 times a week, via SBS Radio 2EA. At first we pre-recorded programs, in a studio (Converted Church buildig) in Balmain. Then!! we went LIVE!
1979:Deployed for a year as Co-ordinator of Multicultural Educatin Resources, through the Child Migrant Education Centre in the Department of Special Education of the Department of New South Wales. Not a happy time.
1980: Back to school and met my future wife.
1981: Married and out of the radio group.
1981: 1 October, 1 week before my birthday, our daughter was born.
1980: Terug naar een school en mijn toekomstige vrouw ontmoet.
1981: Het trouwbootje in en het radio programaatje uit.
1981: 1 oktober, 1 week voor mijn verjaardag, voor het eerst de vader van een dochter, Johanna.
1983: 10 augustus, voor de tweede keer een vader, van een zoon, Martin. (Ik heet Johannes Martien.)
1985: Meedoen aan het oprichten van 'community radio', in de Sutherland Shire, waar we in een hoekje van woonden en lid van het bestuur (secretaris, penningmeester, voorzitter) van de Montessorischool waar onze kinderen begonnen.
1987: Naam laten veranderen in een kantoor in de binnenstad. Mul werd Mulholland. Ik gebruik nu Mul weer veel (hier in Cyberspace). Mijn ex-vrouw is terug gegaan naar haar meisjesnaam en de kinderen heten nog Mulholland. Vreemd!
1992: Graduated with Diploma in Educational Studies(Multicultural Education) and divorced. . 1993: Bought flat, opposite the outflow of Lake Illawarra and the beach, south of Wollongong, south of Windang.
1995: Sold flat. Back to Sydney and into granny flat.
1996: Back to UNE for Master of Professional Studies (Multicultural Education) but cannot concentrate on research. Bought computer, addicted to the internet. 1997: Vacation in the Netherlands,13 June to 3 August.
1999: Daughter elected School Captain of The MacDonald College for the Performing Arts. Mother moved to closer nursing home.Father into hospital, 4th time in recent years. Mother's sister (80) visits for the 10th time from Gouda.
1992: Graduate Diploma in Educational Studies (Multicultural Education) van de University of New England (UNE) ontvangen. O ja, ook gescheiden. 1993: Flat gekocht, in het zuiden van Wollongong. Deze keer kon ik de Stille Oceaan van uit mijn slaapkamer, over de straat en de uitlaat van Lake Illawarra zien. 1995: Flat verkocht. Te ver van mijn kinderen, ouders en werk vandaan en geen overplaatsing. 1996: Terug naar UNE ( University of New England, Armidale, NSW) om te studeren voor een Master of Professional Studies (Multicultural Education) graad en Computer gekocht. Verslaafd aan het internet. 1997: Vakantie in Nederland, tussen 13 juni en 3 augustus. 1998: Vader hart aanval. Moeder naar een verzorgings tehuis (nursing home) gebracht. Zie: Oud worden in Australië 1999: Dochter gekozen door de studenten en leerkrachten van haar school als School Captain (The MacDonald College for the Performing Arts.) Moeder overgeplaatst naar een veel beter Nursing Home. Vader voor de vierde keer naar het ziekenhuis. Zuster van moeder (80) komt voor de 10de keer op visite uit Gouda..

2000: Ik kon de mensen van de Radio (AVRO) een beetje helpen, in de week vóór de Olympische Spelen.
A team from the AVRO (radio) organisation came to do broadcasts to the Netherlands, to set the scene for Sydney 2000. They found me on the internet and I enjoyed being involved with radio again.
2002: Gerda van Hoorn komt weer op bezoek uit Loosduinen. (Emigreerde samen met haar man en dochterje met ons in 1956. Teruggekeerd naar Nederland in 1968.) Bezocht Bonegilla Museum.
2002: Met Gerda, in La Perouse, waar de 'slangenman', Zaterdags en Zondags slangen en andere reptilen laat zien. (Rechts)

2002: Gerda van Hoorn visits from Loosduinen. (With husband and daughter, she migrated with us in 1956. Returned 1968.)In 2002 she visited the Bonegilla Migrant Hostel Museum, near Albury.
August, 2002. Shed 20 kg through meal replacement powder, taken as milkshake, first called Modi-fast. Then became Opti-fast and decided to stay active. Gym did not appeal. Found the son of Bob Potter,Douglas, who, like his father before him, teaches dancing.
Augustus, 2002.20 kilo verloren binnen een paar maanden en wil nu aktief blijven. Heb de dans studio op gezocht van Douglas Potter. In de jaren 50 en 60 ging in om met de Potter familie, Bob, Dot en de kinderen, Robert, Lynette en vooral, Douglas.Bijna al dat er af ging is weer terug. ........Er was een brand in de studio.
September, 2002. First year as a judge in the NSW Clean Beach Challenge, visiting the beaches nominated in the Illawarra and Kiama areas
September, 2003. Judged the beaches nominated in the Sydney area.
April, 2004. 20 kg is almost all back again. There was a fire in the studio.
September, 2004. Judged the beaches in the Hunter area.
July, 2005. Agreed to be a judge again.
Nu zorg ik voor mijn vader.

We have had found for us, via the Social Worker of Bankstown Hospital, via Centacare, wonderful help.Katja speaks Dutch. Cleaned the house. Cheered my father up.*
