Ik had eventjes, nu al weer een poos geleden een heel andere soort ervaring. Een backpaker, uit Nederland,Ramona, had hier in Sydney een poos een baantje. Namelijk, stemmen opnemen van (oud-) Nederlanders. Ik was één van die oude oud Nederlanders. Was best wel interesant om namen van mensen, van steden enz. , nog steeds zo goed mogelijk uit te spreken.
Ik had bij voorbeeld goed last met het woord: Martin en ook Martijn. Mijn zoon heet Martin, en al 22 jaar noem ik hem MAAR-ten.MIJN STEM HIER.

I was also a member of the Dutch Syllabus Committees, which advised the NSW Department of Education, regarding Dutch taught at secondary level. (The Saturday Schools of Community Languages were launched and I had the honour of enrolling the first students for Dutch (at Strathfield High School).
I saw the maintenance of Dutch for the children of migrants as 'a cause'. It seemed such a waste not to build up a skill that many could easily develop (further).
Enthusiasm for allowing children to learn Dutch was almost less than luke-warm. After all the Dutch were the 'great assimilators.
A few times this board had too many messages and needed to be cleared out. Should you be looking for a Dutch-born person in Australia, perhaps this board is useful. You may have useful information. I have had this message board since 1996.

Voor mijn zus die door mijn adoptie ouders is geadopteerd in Australie in 1964 ben ik op zoek naar haar biologsiche ouder(s)die van Australische afkomst zijn.
Naar alle waarschijnlijkheid is zij als baby ondergebracht bij zusters(weeshuis)in het plaatsje Darlinghurst in of nabij Sydney de meisjesnaam van haar biologische moeder is Dodd en was op het moment van de geboorte waarschijnlijk zeer jong ongeveer 15 a 16 jaar oud. This picture was taken a few days ago, sent to me by Mr Adri Fillekes who used to be the fish-monger, in the Kleiweg near the Thalia cinema. When I was little I watched Fatty and Skinny, Dik en Dun, Laurel and Hardy, do funny things on the screen in the Thalia Theater. Also George Formby making funny noises. In 1997 my children and I searched for cards in the shop on that corner.

Meer dan tachtig daklozen, armen en eenzame ouderen ondergingen zondag een gratis schoonheidsbehandeling bij het inloophuis Domino in Gouda. Volgens de regionale zender RTV West heeft de opkomst 'alle verwachtingen overtroffen'. Ook dakloze en arme mensen zijn mooi en waardevol, wilde Domino met de verwendag laten zien. (13/2/2005)
